International applicants follow the admission process appropriate to their intended level of study while providing any additional academic, language, and enrollment documentation required for study in the Republic of Korea.
From application through arrival, JANU provides dedicated support for students entering the university from outside Korea.

International applicants apply through the same undergraduate or graduate admission framework used by other JANU applicants, with additional requirements where necessary to evaluate educational records completed outside Korea.
Application procedures vary according to level of study, educational background, and intended program.
UNDERGRADUATE
For students applying after secondary education. International undergraduate applicants should review JANU’s general undergraduate requirements together with any additional documentation required for applicants educated outside Korea.
GRADUATE
For applicants pursuing master’s, doctoral, or advanced professional study. Graduate requirements are determined by the relevant program and may include additional academic, research, professional, or faculty-related materials.

Applicants should provide official academic records from the schools, colleges, or universities relevant to their application.
Documents issued in a language other than Korean or English may require an official or certified translation.
JANU may also request information necessary to understand an applicant’s curriculum, grading system, qualification structure, or eligibility for further study within the educational system in which the credential was earned.
Applicants should submit records exactly as requested for their admission pathway. Additional verification may be required before enrollment.

Programs at JANU may be taught primarily in Korean, English, or through a combination of languages depending on the academic field and course structure.
Applicants may be required to demonstrate appropriate language preparation for their intended program.
Accepted forms of evidence, minimum standards, and exemptions may vary by school, college, department, or degree.
KOREAN-LANGUAGE STUDY
Applicants entering programs requiring substantial Korean-language coursework should review the proficiency requirements established for their admission pathway.
ENGLISH-LANGUAGE STUDY
Programs using English extensively may require evidence of English-language preparation when an applicant’s previous education does not otherwise demonstrate it.
Meeting an admission language requirement does not necessarily mean every course within a degree will be offered in that language.

The Astra Global Center serves as JANU’s primary hub for international student transition, global programs, and cross-border academic support.
Students may use the center before and after arrival for guidance related to university transition, immigration and enrollment processes, orientation, exchange programs, and life in Seoul.

International students have access to JANU’s university-wide student services, including health, wellbeing, academic support, accessibility resources, and campus guidance.
The Student Health Clinic, located in Astra Medical Sciences Hall (11), provides general student healthcare and referral support.
JANU Pharmacy and other campus services support everyday health needs, while additional wellbeing resources are available through the university’s student-support network.

Beginning university in another educational system can require adjustment beyond the classroom itself.
JANU orientation and academic advising introduce students to course registration, academic expectations, university policies, advising structures, libraries, learning resources, and the systems used throughout their program.
International students receive the same academic advising available to their degree or academic pathway, with additional transition support available through the Astra Global Center.

Students attending JANU through an exchange, visiting, or partner-university arrangement may follow procedures separate from standard degree admission.
Eligibility, nomination, available coursework, credit arrangements, housing access, and application requirements depend on the student’s home institution and the specific program.
The Astra Global Center coordinates many of JANU’s international exchange and visiting-student activities.

Students who accept an offer of admission receive additional instructions through JANU’s applicant and student systems.

The Astra Global Center and relevant academic offices continue supporting students as they transition from admission into university life.
